    Default Good fortune continues.

Been killing the trout using JDM spoons and spinners in heavy water. Up until a year ago I would not have even attempted to catch trout at Normandy with high flows. Thanks to some great JDM lures…rods…..lines and other gear it has opened up waters. Got some 6 gram Smith spinners this past week….got some 8 gram Forest MIU Abalone spoons on the way and some Major Craft Eden heavy sinking minnows on the way too. Today I had 23 decent trout on the TenRyu Rayz Spectra 6’ 1” LL rod with the Varivas Infinty X 8 PE line. They were hitting 5 gram spoons on the swing. It was an absolute ball. Now I’m sure with all this rain Normandy will release so much water you can’t fish. But it won’t take to long to get it back down to 500 CFS. Already have a week booked in July out on the Little Red. This time if they run 2 generators I will have the heavy lures to fish it. Life is good!

    Regards

Looks like you have them figured out, no matter what the flow or conditions. Good catch

The color on the first trout is beautiful! Love those red/rose cheeks.

I wish I had it figured out.....LOL. It can be tough fishing in that flow but it is well worth it. It is about at the limit I can fish it with lures on the gear I have.

How do you fish them? Have you done a video on them?
