Late Winter/Early Spring in East Tennessee brings the Bass into the shallow water creeks looking for warming waters and an easy meal. The last 3 years I have battled these rascals with this JDM ultralight gear, and for the most part the score has been about even. Armed with 3lb test or less, the Micropterus meanies have taken their fair share of jigs and plastics from my tackle box, but what fun they can be on this light equipment. This year, two trips in and they are now losing due to the Twitch Master nylon line by Varivas. Spooled on the 6.10 Corto, a solid stick in itself, I have the edge so far.
?
?This afternoon, I went 5 for 5 with no break offs or curse words spoken. The season is early, the Brown ones have not moved up yet, and when they do the stakes will get higher as they are very acrobatic and rival a torpedo in the shallows. The Temperate bass should be along soon, and this new nylon should handle them with ease. Stay tuned and come on Spring!

I noticed a crayfish pincher on the rock in the second to last picture. Maybe what the bass are looking for there. I wish we had some open water.
