All the time: mackerel, bonito, barracuda, corvina with topwater, sand bass and croaker with bottom presentations. It is a ton of fun on UL tackle.
Anybody fish in saltwater with UL tackle? Aijing and mebaru rods are designed for saltwater species, so it's a natural fit.
I have never tried this but would love to. Most of my saltwater fishing has been with a fly rod. I know some of the smaller fish would be a ton of fun on JDM gear.

Jig heads (1-5 g) with various small plastics work well throughout water column, particularly good for hopping on the bottom for mebaru. For topwater, I use all kinds fo lures: jig heads, tiny metal jigs, tiny plugs... There is a wide selection among JDM offerings. Snaggy conditions prevent me from using anything with treble hooks for bottom presentation, though I'd like to find place for fishing mebaru with tiny sinking pencils and crankbaits.
I’m hopefully heading towards the beach this weekend and I am taking a few ultra light sticks and I am planning on using some various trout magnets... I usually use 3” zman minnowz and target flounder which I’ll probably do too but going to down size for pinfish and other random targets...

One of my favorite plastics for bottom fishing in the bay has been powerbait trout worm, so I'm sure trout magnets will do well.
