Thread: Epic battle on the Eradicator!

I’ve caught a ton of Smallies in the 18-21 inch range on nylon 2# test line....the Smallie I got today was at the 17 inch mark.....but popping fat. I had the 6’ 7” Slow Taper Special Super Ultra Light with the Abu Garcia Revo MGX Theta spooled up with the 2.3# test ester monofilament line. The jig head was a Daiwa Gekkabijin # 8 hook dressed with a Sow Bug Trout Magnet. It was a heck of a battle. Also caught a few crappie at the 11-12 inch mark. The action of the rod really helped protect the line...for those that fish ester know it will pop in a micro second. This one fish made my day. Life is good!
