Has anyone tried the graphiteleader budget series, the corto UX or finezza UX? Looks like they can be picked up currently for around $100 shipped, looking for some budget crappie/panfish rods for the kayak and wondering how these would fair against domestic rods in the same price range.

Default Ultralight Rods Relating to Panfish #2

Any JDM rod candidates for bass fishing if you are primarily using a senko? Pond I fish a lot has tons of bass in the 1-3 lb range.

The 6’10” Lunakia is the biggest jdm rod I have, but only has a 4 lb line limit. Step up to the 7’5” or is there something else I should consider?

Are you using a full size senko? If so the weight of that would be a bigger concern to me for the 610 Luna than line diameter.

The 75 Luna is a great rod, but still might not be enough to comfortably sling that big chunk of plastic around.

I also have the 822 Lunakia, and it would handle it just fine, but that’s a loooonnngggg rod so you’d have to decide if you’re ok with that.

I would probably look to some of the bass series of JDM rods and look at their L or UL models. Not technically JDM, but made in Japan I believe, the SHIMANO expride lineup has an UL and L option that would do great I’d think.

    Id suggest a different option….

Get you a pack of Zman Micro TRD or Micro Ticklerz and a pack of the micro finesse Zman Ned heads. 1-3lb bass will destroy that rig, and you can fish them on the 610 Luna, or if you are just looking for a reason to buy the 75, that Micro Ned rig with be exceptional on the 75.

I would not be using a full size senko. I’d probably be using the 4” senko.

Thanks! If I can get away with it on the 610 Luna, that will be just fine.

What size ned head? Any line and reel recommendations? I have a Abu Garcia MGX Theta 1000s, a Zenon 1000s, and a Shimano Vanquish 1000s.

    Appreciate the feedback.

Yeah I’d just fish 1/16oz ned rig and use those zman micros as well. I personally would go bigger than the 6’10” Lunakia though. It could be used but not my first choice. That 7’5” might be the ticket. I picked up a new rod this year for the river and while its not a high end rod it worked out nicely throwing 1/32 to 1/8 jigheads with small zman baits and 2” creature baits. I just used a 2k size exist with the varivas infinity braid and a 6’4” UL Shimano Expride. I have been really impressed with this rod and it was a lot of fun using it wading the river this year. I’m sure they offer a longer version you could use. Good tip and nice backbone.

With any of those reels if they were mine I’d spool one of them up with a 4lb Suffix NanoBraid and run a 6 foot leader of a nylon mono like 2lb SOS.

I pour my own jigheads, so I’d pour a Midwest finesse head on a #1 or #2 1/16 oz head.

The Zman micro TRD is essentially a 2” senko, but the full size TRD is 3” and would be fine. There are several other makers that make lures like that. I’ve never fished senkos, just seen them, but I’m sure the 4” would be fine too.

If it were me I’d be looking at slow swimming a 3-4” curly tail grub on a 1/16 or 3/32 round ball jighead.

    Thanks for the detailed response!

Zman Shroomz Strange that bass pro lists this as #4 hook and zman site says 1 or 2 size hook.

I was going to get a few packs of the 1/15. Should these work well?
