Don't get me wrong i like lighter rods as much as the next angler, however what got me into this JDM mess in the first place was also how nice some of them look. For example your Megabass Shoreluck LTD, Alphahawk, its a perfect case in point. I agree with you not fishing it and just admiring it once in a while And about the arriving Abu Eradicator 5-10, yes i can't wait to use it and share my impression as well as the Xesta (one of the Russians favorites .)

The rod is made of Torayca M40X throughout. I've bent it to the handle with a 4 lbs croaker. It didn't break a sweat. I run it with Vanquish 1000SSSPG these days. The best rod I've used so far for fishing from piers.

S_v, your words breathe comfort in me for ill be doing same with the Abu 5-10 you spotted on Ebay and the Xesta 4-10, good length for dropping of lures and bait into the deep end. Since you own an Eradicator as well any similarity between it and the Luxxe at all in how strong its blank is?

The Eradicator that I have is the 79ULS model, and it is an excellent rod with a strong and robust butt section, so I cannot quite compare its power with my slender, toothpick-like Luxxe Ten 52UL. I'm sure my Eradicator can handle a lot. The Luxxe Ten that I have is an entirely different rod, and it is a significant step up in performance, at least to me. I've decided to forgo any further explorations of the Eradicator line in favor of Evergreen Superior and Ares Squidmania Salty Brave model series, in part because I simply don't have enough bandwidth to try them all.

S_v, the Evergreen superior rods are no doubt as many have reviewed as true as true can be and believe me, at least 1 will be considered in the near future!

Just FYI, besides the Abu Eradicator Prototype is in the pipeline, I came across on the Olympic site as such:

Again I don’t know much about rod blank technology and terminology if my life depends on it, but I love discovering and reading all things relate to it. Man 120k yen!!

Anybody use the breaden trevalism xul spinning rods made in japan? Just got the 602 with tubular tip and seems to be similar to the lunakia and blue current rods. Haven't had good experiences with a couple of JDM rods made outside of Japan, or could just be a coincidence. Ordered from kiwi fishing shop which has discounted prices and a large inventory.

Came close a couple of times but really wanted to try the titanium tip…..but I’m not sure it will ever be back in stock.
