I have a few midrange JDM UL and L rods that I'd probably want to retire, including Tict RF and Eradicator, though the latter is not the slow taper special (never owned that one). They are all great rods, but they've been sitting in my garage for months and seen no action, so I figure they might serve better someone else.
With that said, if you can see yourself going up a level in the future, I'd recommend pulling that trigger sooner rather than later. I'm loving my Evergreen Superior rods, I have a few from the line-up, and I only wish I settled earlier. Still building my trout arsenal though, but my Shimano's Cardiff Area Limited and Stella combo is everything I've wished for in area tackle, except for the price.
    The JDM journey is amazing...

I have a couple of the Triplecross rods, and I am sure they do not have the same blank as the new Aji DO. The new blank I would think is going to be much lighter and maybe even a little softer than the Triplecross. I will send Plat another email regarding its availability.

For those interested in an ajing rod in my opinion this is a bargain. The blank in this rod uses T1100G...same material used on some Olympic GraphiteLeader rods....plus the titanium frames with Sic-s inserts. Really great specs at a great price.

I emailed Plat regarding the Majorcraft Aji Do rod and the response was not favorable. They do not have any in stock and do not have a timeline for the next production run of the rod.

The balance point is right at the reel foot, so any kind of active presentation is not a burden on the wrist. Also the tip under very slight load. While swinging, the rod feels like a broomstick, but load it up - and you get a nice smooth bending curve all the way to the handle. Could have something to do with M40X as main material.

Wow, s_v you weren't kidding about some of these JDM rod being purpose-built like a "race car"! There are not much else to add to the weight. 33 grams light just insane! Thanks for the pictures!

They can go lighter. The new Eradicator Prototype 46 comes in at 27 grams.

I wonder, Randy, that somewhere in the process if any compromise being made? One can only ask for so much taken away before there's not much material left. Cheers

Oh by the way I just ordered 2 more rods for my arsenal: a very short 4-10 Xesta and the 5-10 Abu eradicator from Australia (thanks to s_v pointing the sale out.) These 2 will cover me in the foreseeing future from 4feet10 to 6feet9 (Tict RF) in the UL department!

This is why I do not currently have any of these type rods. I have been looking at the Gamakatsu for a long time. And now the Abu Garcia Prototype...I am trying to find out how these rods really hold up. I am supposing if one does what I have said for years....never exceed the line rating...dont high stick, or do anything stupid, one would be OK.

    Regards

Looking forward to your review of the 510. I have the 57 Slow Taper on pre order but who knows of it will be available anytime within the next year.
