Default Ultralight Rods Relating to Panfish #2

For those who have a need for a really short and very lightweight JDM rod, Tenyru is releasing a 5'3" Lunakia, the LK532S-ULS, with a max lure rating of 1.5g and line rating of 2lb.

Thanks for the info. Those Tenryu rods are top notch.

I have the 6'10" rod and it is by far the best UL JDM. I have caught around 50 lake trout on this rod up to 25 lbs and never had a problem, can't say the same for some others i have owned.

+1 on the Tenryus. I have the 6’2” Lunakia and it is first class all the way.

I’m making an effort to fish more with the 6’10 Lunakia. I took it out a couple of weeks ago and got into some 8-9 inch bluegills and had a blast.

A couple of days ago I took it back out to a nearby pond and caught a decent size bass. It took several minutes to get it to shore and it put up a decent fight. Rod performed really well and didn’t feel over or under gunned with the Lunakia.

It really is probably the most universal ultralight I’ve come across this far.

If you take sub-6 inch fish out of the equation it’s bigger brother the 7 foot 5 model is very close as well.

Between the two I’ve caught fish from a few inches long up to 5 lb smallmouth and 15+ pound drum in the current and never not had fun or struggled to land them.

I have the 7'5" Lunakia and really like it. It has an extra fast action. I currently have an Exist 2505 with 5# test on it. Would not want to go below 4# with it. It will certainly handle 6 or 7 lb. but the small butt guide will restrict casting distance with larger lines, IMO. A size 2000 reel would be a great fit.

I run a 2020 Luvias 2000 on mine, usually with 4lb Twitch master nylon mono or a .3 JDM PE line. Next to try is the 4lb blue moon fluorocarbon.

For those that have the Tict Ice Cube Rocking Finesse 6'9" what are your thoughts after using it for awhile? Seen one online and thinking of picking it up.

    Thanks in advance.
If you cast it they will come.

Simply a fantastic rod. I’ve owned one for a couple of years. Several here own one and I think they will all tell you the same. Tict makes great rods. I have several videos of this rod in action.
