0.35 PE basically is 3.5 lb test. I've used 4 lb mono and floro on my Tict RP with no issues, but I have 0.3 PE on right now (3 lb).

Awesome, thank you. Maybe I'll toss on the 3lb. Notice much difference between the braid, mono, and fluro in different lb test?

Depends on what I'm doing. For dock shooting, I need a hi-viz line that can straighten a lite-wire jig hook, so I use 4 lb K9 brand hi-viz flouro. I'm sure it is closer to 6 lb but I don't care. For jigging and brush jigging I use 2-3 lb, either a good mono like the Meister area or Gamma panfish, or I use the Unitiika 0.3 PE II with a Seaguar 4 lb flouro leader. Your needs may vary.

There was a discussion on here about PE ratings before. I wanted to know break strength of the ratings. As Chris Stewart told us they are not written in stone. As discussion with Chris Stewart.....they can be all over the place in actual break strength. Can’t find the discussion but it’s here somewhere.

    Regards

Forgot to say: use your hand, not the rod, to pull when snagged. Not the rod!

Does anyone know what the PE line equivalent is to mono? The power is rated at 0.1-0.35 PE. Attachment 371021

Did you pre order your 2020 Luvias from Digitaka?

I placed a pre-order with Digitaka for the same reel at the end of February but still waiting.

I bought it from their garage sale section last week. It's was new, but a display model.

I too prefer the 1000 size for UL fishing, cast and retrieve, but I wanted a reel with a little faster gear ratio for two main applications, float fishing and vertical jigging. I was looking for a little bit bigger spool capacity also. While float fishing, casting to a target and keeping the bait in the zone is important, but when your cast/presentation is over the higher gear ratio will get you back in and back out quicker. I know this sounds trivial, but I Bass fished plastics for years and when you can make more casts and more presentations then you are increasing your odds at getting the bait in front of a fish. 7.1 ratio bait casting reels were where I left off, but man were they fast to me. As far as the reel, here are the specs on mine, I am sure the 1000 series is lighter. I like the color, partial to red/black/silver.

There is a bearing kit available on Ebay for this reel if you are so inclined.

-Price, the Ballistic costs about $100 more
-Weight, the Ballistic is 30 grams lighter
-Construction, the Ballistic is not mag sealed like the Gekkabijin is

Other than that, there may be some slight differences, but I can not tell.

It sounds like a good 1000 series mag sealed reel. I am debating the these two to be paired with a SUL, so I will likely go with the Ballistic.

Any more feedback on this reel? I was thinking of pair it with the Major Craft Finetail Area Stage 6'3" UL. It boils down to the 1000 vs 2000. What's the difference between the S and SP?

Any thoughts on either of these potential combos?
