Hah, me too. I'm going to order a kit for the ballistic.

    Doesn't look hard to do.

The LT line of reels are a little different than the older Daiwa reels I have. There is a tiny spring clip that holds the bearing support bushing in. It can get away from you real quick. I know because I let one get away....LOL. It really is easy for it to pop up and fly away when you’re trying to get it out. I have 5 of those on order from Plat.....just in case. I did the get one reel tuned successfully but will wait on the spring clips before I do the other 3 Ballistic and the new Luvias. All the LT line of reels have this little clip. Just a heads up about the clip.

    Regards

Those clips are a bugger! Of the 4 I did, 2 shot out. I think next time I'll put the spool in a clear plastic bag, poke the screwdriver through bag, and then remove.

The Daiwa 20 Luvias 2000S is no longer available for pre order on Digitaka.com. It's now listed as "Sorry, no stock". I could not find the slow retrieve version anywhere except maybe on EBay but they were really high.

I did place a pre-order yesterday morning for one for March delivery, and I am very glad I did - talk about timing.

I'm wondering if the coronavirus is affecting production of JDM fishing equipment?

The only thing I've seen on the web stores are notices that shipping to China may be slow. The Luvias is made in Japan so I am not sure how it would be affected. I know they have been selling like hotcakes. I am sure that the JDM gear that is made in China is going to be slowed down at some point...if not already.

They were selling faster than hotcakes, maybe they sold all of them for this year's production run thru pre-orders. Lols

Is the use of two line roller bearings common, or only on high(er) end reels? I ask because I have cheap Abu Garcia and it has two line roller bearings.

Most cheap reels do not use 2 line roller bearings. You don't usually get into 2 roller bearings on Daiwa and Shimano until you get to the high end. This is the first time Luvais comes stock with 2 roller bearings. The 2014 Presso reel only had 1 line roller bearing. Cheap reels made in China....they can be many brands to include Abu Garcia......will have a lot of bearings as a selling point. Bearings alone do not make a reel but no doubt bearings are better than bushings.

    Hey guys,

I missed out the first time, but it looks like the Daiwa Ballistic reels are back on eBay for $214. I ordered one since the Luvias seems to be hard to get. Just curious did anybody who ordered the reel before from this seller pay taxes? Even with the taxes I paid the deal is still cheaper than the others.

    Thanks
