Default JDM reels relating to panfish

Rockin’ Finesse owners... what reel have you paired with the rod? I’m leaning towards the 6’9” tict for my 2nd JDM rod (assuming it ever comes back in stock)

In the meantime, I’m going to re-read this thread as well JDM reels relating to panfish

    Thanks!

I’ve used Ballistic FW LT 1000.....2015 Luvias 1000 and 2004 series....Presso Limited 1025. They all worked out fine but am a big fan of the very light Ballistic FW LT 1000 with that rod.

I haven't spent nearly as much time with my Finesse as the other owners here, but I have settled on Soare Ci4+ C2000SSPG spooled with 1 lb ester. I tried Luvias FC LT2000S first, but did not like the feeling during the retrieve (though I only use <1 g jig heads on this rod), and the incompletely tightened reel seat locking nut was bugging me. I'm sure any other low inertia reel would also work just fine for me on this rod. Balance is perfect with both the Soare and the Luvias.

I use a Daiwa Day Sprout 1000 or Daiwa Presso 1025 Ltd... the Daysprout is all black and looks really cool on it for sure

Read "all black" and I had to look it up. That Day Sprout is a nice looking reel!

I came very close to buying that reel until I found the FW from that seller in Japan for I think it was right at 200 bucks....then added the bearings and the Zaion knob. Of course I didn’t get the black paint job....LOL. Got the rest of the Zaion knobs on the way and will have them on all my Daiwa reels. Also got a Gomexus aluminum knob coming for my Twin Power. I have never cared for the soft rubber knobs on the Daiwas or the Shimano. I liked the knob on the 2015 Luvias much better than the one on the 20 model. So by next week all my reels will be tuned as far as I am wanting to go. There was a guy on TT that changed out the drag clicker and the roller assembly on his DaySprout. Those 2 items were not cheap. Not sure when I will get it but the Exist will in all likelihood be the next reel. These reels will last a very long time. My 2012 Luvias still performs just like it did the day I took it out of the box....but it is retired now. Thinking of giving it to a kid somewhere to use.

What a coincidence! You want to give it to a kid, and I’m starting 4th grade soon.
