My jdm tatula spools arrived today. Fit perfect on my lt1000 reels. Removed the bushings and added the spool bearings from hedgehog. The stock usa 1000 spools have three drag washers, jdm spools have 1. Also installed the bearing kit in my 20 Luvias. What a difference that handle bearing makes, you would never think it would matter, but much smoother feeling afterwards. I think the spool and shaft bearings make a difference also. When I had the reel stock, spooled with line, jig tied on, and clipped to hook keeper, drag loose you could watch the spool wobble when reeling. No more wobble after bearing install. Where can I find the 1003 Luvias? I see where there is a couple available on Ebay but they want far more than I'm willing to spend.

Wonder what happened to the guy selling the Ballistic 1000 for $200???

He is still on eBay but he has no reels in stock. I imagine he is at a halt as nothing is moving out of the airport his shipments go through......Chubu International. I have a rod stuck at that airport since March 30th.

Sorry for your loss, but I would really like to have seen some video of that event.

Here you go. It looks like #88 on the list. Check the parts drawing.

I just ordered a new handle via Plat. I really don't know what happened to cause the handle to loosen up. I went to reel line in and quickly realized the handle was loose. I then started to tighten the handle in the Wrong direction!! Within a couple of seconds it was completely off the reel and fumbling in my hand and I dropped it into the water.

Upset would be an understatement...There is one saving grace, I dropped it right into some chunk rock that will be exposed when they drop the lake. I will try to locate it at that time.

Edit: I took the handle off of my Ballistic 1000 and put in on the 1003 Luvias...works like a charm.

I caught a 5lb Drum, five hand size redear and two keeper bluegills. I didn't catch any of those hammers, that was a disappointment.

The cool temperatures have probably backed the big fish off into deep water...Hopefully that changes real soon.
