That’s one good thing here in PA. There are all kinds of designated trout waters that can give one options instead of just put and take. Sometimes you may have to drive a bit, but you can get a shot at public limestone spring fed creeks. Some of the heritage waters have some real bruisers.

I have talked to a number of anglers fishing for trout in my area and many of them wish there were catch and release only options. Interestingly, all of them seemed quite tackle-savvy. If I had an option, I'd choose catch and release only anytime.

A very nice rig. It seems an advanced ice fishing rod would serve just as well though.

Of course I don't know anything about ice rods but this rod has Daiwa's new type tip on it. It is a titanium composite...supposedly great bite detection and very durable. I have been looking at the latest Daiwa AGS Area Trout Rod that has this tip. But of course all I am doing is looking as the new Presso Limited AGS SMT sells for $780.....LOL.

That's called a "quivertip" or "feeder" rod. (At least, it's the JDM version. )

They're very common in Europe. I have three of them.
