Haha, thanks a bunch Randy!!!
Suitable???.....it will be off the charts good! I can’t justify the purchase of any of the rods I have....I just want them. I wish I had discovered JDM rods years ago. You have the advantage on me with you being younger....more time to enjoy them.....LOL.

I have the ice cube 6’9 rockin’ finesse paired with a 2004 luvias but I might put the 1003 presso on it... anyways the rod is well worth the money... I bought a triple cross for my dad on his birthday and it seemed so much heavier than the ice cube... It is a great rod and every fish is super fun on it... I don’t care much for it when fishing for trout but that’s what the cortos are for . I think you will be very happy with your purchase

got in to these jdm rods just two years ago and im up to 9 of them. kinda superstitious on odd numbers so im shopping for another to make it an even 10. im toying with the idea of a 10ft shore jigging rod for vertical jigging deep crappie. i could do it with my 7'5" xride but if its a big brush pile ya need a longer rod. major craft makes an n-one that i think would work but the handle looks a bit long. can't find a picture of it that gives dimensions of the different sectons. its a 3 piece rod so i would still be able to avoid customs. its only a 250.00 gamble, lol. i doubt anybody has fooled with a jdm jig pole but if someone has would love to here your thoughts.

What ultra light rods would be considered as must haves from you experienced in JDM equipment?
Budget wise, for entry level, a Majorcraft Triple Cross Ajing or Mebaru rod or a Majorcraft Area Trout Rod such as the Finetail Banshee. For medium budget and I believe the best rod for the money is the Graphiteleader Corto, 6.10 Solid Tip Light Game rod. For higher end rods I would concede to the Experts but maybe a Tenryu Lunakia, a Yamaga Blanks Blue Current Jig Special or even another higher end Graphiteleader like the Finezza Prototype. Watch some of Alphahawk’s videos and glean as much information as you can then look them up on the Japanese websites using Google Chrome for specs and actions.

Since I know you already own some high end JDM rods...although I have forgotten which ones....I seriously doubt you would ever be happy with anything in the low or even medium end range. Once one goes high end that will be all you want to fish with. I am speaking not only from my experience but also what many before me have said. Even after owning high end rods I initially thought I could find a sleeper rod out there and save some money. So I ordered a beautiful Daiwa Iprimi area trout rod. Fishing with it just felt dead...it now sits in the rod pouch to be used in case I have a guest. One of my first rods I bought was a Major Craft Volkey UL. I loved it....but now it is in the rod rack just sitting. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the low-medium end rods sold in Japan....but fishing with high end rods spoil you real quick. I would suggest a high end mebaru rod.....my 1st choice would be the Finezza Prototype. I would get a high end ajing rod.....my suggestion would be an 2018 Corto.....or higher. An area trout rod...my suggestion would be the Graphiteleader 2018 Super Bellezza. A Major Craft Fine Tail Banshee has to be considered a high end rod. Even though I own, and absolutely love the 6' 7" model I don't recommend it to anyone. There should have been one more guide on that rod. The Banshee super ultra light I highly recommend though. My take on JDM rods now is buy once cry once. Those are the must haves in my opinion. While being laid up I have been looking and looking at what should be my next rod. I keep going back to the 2018 Super Belleza. There are other brands of rods for sure. The Yamaga Blanks TZ line of rods are fantastic......the TenRyu Lunakia is right at the top. Tict make excellent rods....the list could go on. But once you own a Graphiteleader rod you grade other rods a little different. Here is the one thing about any well known high end JDM UL rod.....there aren't any bad ones.

Yesterday I received my Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 71 TZ Nano Jighead special. It feels sweet! Very lightweight and sensitive (testing only done in the living room so far). I plan to give it a go this weekend sometime. Can’t wait!
A good buddy that I work with practically gave me a Favorite Rods Jackhammer for bass fishing. He knows a guy who knows a guy. Apparently the US business is out of Thayer Missouri. I’m not sure what kind of rod blank it has but it it very light for a medium action 7 foot rod. It has the single post guides with Sic inserts. Can’t wait to try it out either!

I have looked at that rod a few times. I wonder how it feels in comparison to the 6’10” corto. Interested to hear what you think about it.
Congrats on the new weapon. I almost pulled the trigger on the one on sale from Plat, probably should have bought it, not listed now.
