Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems a few of ebay sellers have items at prices lower than Digitaka, but the difference is often and almost completely eaten away by the sales tax.

I had fun catching bluegill on it but it was really too much rod for bluegill....crappie. I had the 7’ 1” model. I think it will fit exactly what your are looking for....mine is 5 years old but I would bet the new models are just as rigid. Here are pics of the first 2 fish I caught on the MX using Trout Magnet SOS 2# test line. I thought I was going to break the freaking rod. I had it bent into a big C horsing these 2 fish. The Smallie came first and gave me quite a test and battle. But that carp tested the rod...line...reel. I mean that carp was a battle to remember. The rod really shined. The only other Ajing rods I have that could have handled those fish are the Corto.....the Truzer......but neither of them are as rigid as the MX Ajing.

    Randy,

If those fish were caught below Pickwick Dam, I believe three of my classmates saw you catch them. So you have some witnesses of the fight these two big fish put up. One of them went out and got some 2 lb. test line after that day. Over the last 55 years, I have spent hundreds of days wading and fishing from the bank at Pickwick, though not in the last two years.

Having read all 90+ pages in this thread, I have enjoyed your posts and all the other posts to this forum and just received my first JDM rod last week, a Yamaga Blanks BlueCurrent III 69 light game rod. I am fortunate to have accumulated several top of the line Japanese reels, JDM and domestic, over the years, so I have been swapping them around. Will post some fish pics of trips with this rod in the next few days. Have been using 3 and 4 lb line, fishing mostly for spotted bass.

I have my eyes set on the BlueCurrent 93/TZ Nano All-Range for my saltwater fishing needs but it’s definitely expensive at around 425-500 depending on sellers on EBay ...

I was surprised too as I've always had to sign for Japan EMS/USPS packages. I was concerned about shipping damage after D10 had that issue. But the rod seems fine and the shipping box had no signs of damage. Typically the shipping is fast, 4 days on average. This one took 5 days.

Yamaga Blanks has apparently gone to just two lines of light game rods now, with the new BlueCurrent III and the TZNano lines. I really like my BlueCurrent III 69 model so far, and have not spotted any blemishes or defects. It is rated for 1-4 lb., and up to 7 grams. It tossed a 1 gram head with small plastic worm ok, and did the same with a jighead and soft plastic swimbait combo weighing 6.25 grams. Haven't used it enough to determine the sweet spot. It bends very readily, making a small spot an enjoyable battle, but has a strong butt (kinda like one of my old girl friends). It subdued a 2.35 spotted bass the first trip out.

The rod you are looking at cost about twice as much as mine, but you will be getting Nano graphite and Torzite guides, plus much more length and firepower!

Here is a video of me and nephew at Dale Hollow. It’s his video so don’t blame me for the music...LOL. You can see the Blue Current TZ in action. I also had my TZ but he didn’t get any video of me using it. The fish I catch in the video were caught on a Major Craft MSX light action. We both were using 2# test SOS and Trout Magnets.

    Alphahawk,

Yamaga Blanks do not label their rods as mebaring or ajing, just light game. You mentioned previously that those were some of the fastest rods you had used. Would you expect Blue Current 93 TZ All-range to be the same of more moderate? Yamaga Blanks seem to advertise it as do everything rod. Would it be a mebaring-style rod in your opinion?
