Fleabay - they came out of Europe, shipping is a little high. Very tough rod - they fish for Zander & Perch with them - pretty sure they will handle Flounder.
VaCrappieMan thanked you for this post
Platt has the Majorcraft triple cross tcx’s free shipping on certain ones.I believe digitaka is still a bit cheaper.
Congrats on the new rod. Digitaka is almost always cheaper than Plat.....and as for everyday reel prices....meaning not on sale....Digitaka wins hands down. Plat however seems to be more cordial about getting you something they don’t stock. I’ve had Digitaka balk on some items I wanted they did not stock.

I just got in a rod from Japan. I thought I had ordered a MAJOR CRAFT FINETAIL AREA FAX-602UL.
But instead I clicked the link for this rod -- MAJOR CRAFT FINETAIL AREA FAX-602UL/G. From what
I understand the G stands for "glass". Can you tell me what I actually have here ? What is this rod
built for and what are its attributes, as compared to the regular version ? This rod weighs 1.8 ounces
The tip measured with a micrometer is 1.1 mm. The package said it is "tubular model". It is labeled
on the rod Area Stage versus the other model is Area.
thanks kindly, Chris
Here's the link to Major Craft website New Finetail AREA | メジャークラフト|Major Craft Web scroll down to that rod...The specs on that rod look good...Looks like a nice rod...
Maybe Disco will chime in....he has fished UL glass rods before. It’s been more than 40 years since I’ve owned any glass. But as I said not much glass in that rod at 1.8 ounces. It is considered a hybrid....glass/graphite. It is going to be a stronger rod than the all graphite model. Used a lot by trout fisherman. The minus side to the rod is it is less sensitive than the all graphite rod. But in the end I think you have a great rod there.

Very interesting that they are mixing graphite and glass. Fiberglass has made a real resurgence in fly fishing in the last 5-10 years. Most of the fly rod "big boys" have come out with fiberglass models. They have a softer action than graphite and are great at protecting light lines. I suspect that, along with the strength and toughness of glass, the ability to protect line would be very useful for the very light lines the Japanese are using. Also, adding a little fiberglass to a 6-7' rod would not add that much weight to the blank.
