Depends on what you want to do. For me, the 67 – jigs, also hard lures on steady retrieve. The 77 – perfect for twitching and setting the hook with weedless soft plastics due to stiff tip and powerful but moderate midsection. The 93 – truly all-range, I've fished jig heads, soft lures, metal jigs, sinking pencils, minnows (maybe not my first choice for aggressive twitching though). With the 93, casting distance is stunning. Haven't fished the 83 yet. When choosing, I wanted to make sure they were all different.

After fishing the Flex for a few hours, my initial impressions have been confirmed. In short, this rod is one of the best from my line-up, on par or better than the All-Range (different power ratings, of course). I was throwing 3 g jig heads with small plastic worms on 0.3 XBraid PE line. I wanted to try other lures and a thinner line, but couldn't stop fishing this combo – it was that good. The casting distance and handling of the jig head rig were so amazing I couldn't stop quietly vocalizing my excitement. It does fish very much like a more powerful version of the 67 TZ Nano. Small sand bass and mackerel put an absolutely beautiful bend on this rod. The casting... It was something out of this world. I've never put that size of a jig head so far out on this line. I would estimate at well over 30 m. This rod blows Tict SRAM EXR-77S-Sis out of the water.

    Got the 75 Lunakia in.

Wow... Tenryu knows how to make rods.

Have no fishes or yet, these are my initial impressions catching couch bass.

I was hoping this rod was going to be a step up in power from the 610, but was also kind of afraid it would swing too far, my fear were for naught though. This rod is excellent.

My fears came from the power and action difference between the 63 and 610 models I have. There is a pretty intense jump in power between the 63 and the 610. The 610 is a good bit slower I’m action too, I’ve never seen or fished with a rod as fast as the 63.

The difference between the 610 and 75 is more subtle, nuanced even.

There is a power jump, but not a drastic as from the 63-610. If there is a 40% increase there, the increase from 610-75 may be 20%.

The 75 feels slower, but I think that is merely because it’s 7 inches longer on the same action type as 610.

I can tell this rod will be superbly sensitive.

It has a relatively soft tubular tip that goes down to a fairly powerful butt section.

I will get measurements of tip diameter and butt diameter when I can find the stupid batteries for my calipers, or locate my micrometers.

This rod is what I want it to be. This will be an extraordinary finesse smallmouth rod. Hair jigs, grubs, small swimbaits, slider worms will be this rods forte.

It will also be a phenomenal drop shot rod.

But wait! There’s more... I don’t honestly think I’m going to give up much fun on gills except for the smallest of them, pond gills if you will. When I hook into one of my favorite deep water brute bluegills, it will be fun.

Smallies, white bass, and crappie will be this rods main targets, however.

Congratulations on the rod, can’t wait to see the first Smallie tamed with the new stick.

    Yodie,

Great review of the Lunakia LK752S-MMHT.

The tip diameter is 1.2mm. Tenryu doesn't publish butt diameters and I don't have one here to measure. I hope to have some in stock next month, though.

Got more seat time with the ABU Eradicator Real Finesse 6.10 tonight, sort of by accident but certainly enjoyed. Boat repaired, lost lower unit last week due to bad seal, and tonight was to be the test run and a check on some deep brush fish that had not been harassed in a week or so. Started with the Majorcraft XRide, a brute of a rod that will flat snatch a Crappie out of a brushpile so fast they usually don’t know what is happening until they hit the livewell. Well after 3 piles with only 1 bite, I decided a change was in order. With clearer than usual water conditions and no wind, I started looking on the depth finder for bait, and found some scattered pods on the sides of a couple points, then finally found the one with the predator fish. Slate point with no brush....let’s break out the ABU Eradicator with a 1.5g jighead, a BGBS and some ultra thin Sunline braid to battle some Panfish. Well now I didn’t mention that hurricane remnants were coming and I really expected the fish to be putting on the feed bag due to impending weather. When I found the Shad... they were indeed hungry. Cast and retrieve on deep points is also a good way to encounter some non targeted species....or Bullies as I call them.

Bam...not a Thump, but a wrist doubling bite and when he felt the hook he launched straight up trying to shake his piercing, no such luck as the Japanese can produce a sharp hook. I immediately got on the trolling motor and chased him down. The rod bent well, soft but with lower bend backbone, and the Presso drag squealed from the load, but everything performed as it should and I put the net under him. Right at 18in and thick, what fun on the braid. The Specks were there, mixed sizes, 12in was the big fish of the night and everyone was thumping the jig with authority.

Ick ick ick, slimed my line up good they did. They were excused from livewell ride, don’t go home with me for sure. A few more Crappie fell victim to the BGBS in Monkey Milk color, and the Eradicator is an awesome rod to catch said Specks.

When you felt the thump, they were instantly hooked....you do not miss many when they are hungry and you have good equipment in your hand. All the talk lately about the ABU rods and reels, it’s legit, at least in my experiences so far. A matching reel may be on the way, but the Presso does well on this rod for now.

Good write up... Glad you caught some fish and got the boat sea worthy again... I’d say that largemouth was a heck of a fight... I have enjoyed my Abu rod a lot but thinking of taking the Rockin Finesse next time I go...

Got to use the new 752 Lunakia today for about 5 hours.

No big fish caught with it today, not a lack of trying, but was more focused on the deeper gills with the 610 Lunakia.

I spent most of the day throwing a Slider Bass 3” kick tail grub on a 3.5 gram minnow head or a 2.5 gram marabou jig n eel. No takers on either of those, but like I said I wasn’t really in the place for those, was more just for the experience of fishing these lures on this rod.

I did however rig up a drop shot with a #2 hook and a 2” gulp minnow thinking I may have a chance at a smallie or big drum in a place known to hold them... ended up with two nice gills on that rig!

I was totally surprised by this rod, I definitely had total control and power over those bluegills, but the rod softly loaded up into a nice curve and I still had a fun fight on my hands. Now, I was in the canal fishing bridge piers between the lakes and by 1100hrs they were pulling some major currents that was flowing through the tiny canal.

I can’t wait to fish this rod more, I think for my uses, especially when I travel and am fishing the big river, this may quickly move into most useful tool territory for me.

It will be a blast pulling these big KY lake crappie out of the brush piles later on this fall/winter.

This will be glued to my hands next trip I fish below the dam.

Tenryu has one again crafted an excellent tool for my arsenal... strong backbone, soft tip, excellent reel seat, super sensitive.

The only downside... this won’t fit in my BandW sports twin rod case, it will only accommodate up to 7 foot 4 inches. That will be remedied soon, I’m moving from a rod combo case to a clear creek semi custom rod tribe and a separate reel case.
