[QUOTE=Alphahawk;4008955]A good source for trout jigs and info is PJs Tackle:

If you tie, it opens up all kind of possibilities. I came up with these, I wanted a streamer type jig:
Another option is plastic crappie tubes, I use em alot in 1.5", 2" and going to try some 3" tubes. Ebay is a good source, lots of custom pours.
Also getting ready to tie some Euro tungsten bead nymph jigs. Trout are notorious for on/off bites. The bite can be red hot and then off. Fly fishermen switch to nymphs when the bite is slow, and my observations seem to confirm that. JDM equipment should work well for pitching light tungsten nymph jigs?

[QUOTE=Alphahawk;4009208]That's a good feature of the Zig Jig, I've seen other jigheads with that offset head too. Phil from Lily's Landing offers an offset jighead too:

One tactic I learned a few years ago for more jig action is to simply extend my index finger to bump the line as I reel. It causes the jig to wiggle a bit more. Better explained here:
Had a chance to fish with Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 77 TZ/ Nano Stream Special. So far I've taken it only to the bay, no freshwater experience yet. At 74 g this rod is incredibly powerful yet sensitive, and no bites go unnoticed. Just today a sizable spotted bay bass was tasting my Keitech for 10–20 second before I felt confident to set the hook. There is plenty of power to stop fish from digging into the bottom (which otherwise invariably leads to a cut line). I quickly worked up enough courage to lift about 1.5 lbs spotted and white bass up to the rocks, so boat flipping won't be a problem. I'll spare any more details (no panfish encounters, unfortunately), but I'm very impressed with the rod. With a light reel, it'll also make my morning sessions much less taxing on my arms.

Anybody use buyee to get rods from Yahoo auctions? If so how did it go?
Thanks

Can I buy just the butt section for a Triple Cross? Mine is the 7'3" tubular model and I need a new butt section. Plat has the various sections available in the Crostage series only.
Yes you can buy the butt. Just send them an email requesting the butt for that model number. They will charge you shipping and you might find the cost too much and just decide to put that money to another rod. The tip section for a Fine Tail Banshee was around 140 bucks. Of course the Triple Cross is a less expensive rod but I’m thinking it might be half the cost of a new rod if not more.

Yeah....I assume that’s where you bought it. But Plat can do the same. Curious to see what a butt section costs. I would say 99 percent of the breakages are the tip. Didn’t Stan or someone replace a tip on a Triple Cross?
