    Default guntersville bream

thinking about going to guntersville within the next 10 days for a 3 day trip. never been to guntersville. Can anyone give some advice about lodging and areas to fish? I've been looking at the state park accomadations and it looks o.k. Hard to judge by the internet sometimes. Do I need to fish the back of coves, weeds, points,??????? Crickets???? jigs??? Any direction would be appreciated. I called a guide and don't know if we can get down when he has openings, so we may be on our own.

There are plenty of bream in the lake, all of the creeks have good areas, use your map figure out which side of the lake you want to be on, and start fishing. Shore lines, weedlines, humps, even the river ledges hold bream, you shouldn't have much trouble finding em. I would probably avoid the Preston Island area due to stuff in the water from a tornado several weeks ago. Short creek and Town creek are gorgeous in the back areas. Siebold creek has lots of bream. Back side of boat hoses in the shade etc.
There is a weedline in front of the state park that has bream and bass in it. Good Luck

Your timing should be perfect for the big ones this year. They are very late coming up shallow to spawn this year. We have had a longer rainy season than before and the weather has been a little cooler because of all the overcast days. The fishing is just about to get the best so get out there and catch them. I will be looking for fish in 4-5 feet of water about 30 yards off the bank around areas that have millfoil. Some time you can see the beds and other times you can't so get out and try your luck. Try any of the coves and backwater area's with grass and you should be just fine. You may get a few crappie and several cats if you try. The bass have been hitting good and I expect the next two or three weeks to be great with top water action for bass.
