Weiss #-25-29?

I scheduled my Weiss trip a couple weeks later this year than usual because of the bad weather we hit last year. Now I read posts that say the water is as warm as 65 degrees. Is it likely that I'm gonna miss the high point of the spawn completely because I was worried about a little cold weather? I'll be fishing Cowen Creek and the surrounding area.

Depends a little bit on how you fish. If you are trolling, I'd say you will still be fine from the looks of the weather forecasts (lots of minor fronts coming through). As for fishing shallow, I have done well even to the last week of April. There are a lot of fish in Weiss and they'll be eating something somewhere. Caught them in the grass against the bank one day and 8 feet deep the next, just takes a little looking. Good luck! I am coming down on the 8th of April (mostly for the weather as well) the lake is supposed to be full pool on April 1 and a full moon.

I'll be fishing shallow in the creeks as long as the fish cooperate. Probably casting jigs. I don't troll unless I absolutely have to. Just never been able to get into it for some reason. I am set up to do so if necessary though.
