    Default Lake Weiss update

Finally got back over to Lake Weiss this weekend with my son for the first time since spring. Water temp still a bit warm. 75 to 76 degrees. Needs to be around the high 60's to low 70's. Maybe 3 weeks or so it will be there. Fished river ledges and deep brush piles. 15 foot or so with minnows. Over all it was a good trip, great morning on the lake. Here is a sample of what was caught,,,the bite was slow for Weiss so I'm only looking for it to get better when we bring home 60. Biggest was 13 in and around 1.45 pounds.
On another note,,,saw one gas station open the whole way back home and it was at Hwy 20 and 75N. Line of 40 cars. No stations open anywhere on Hwy 20 from Rome all the way to Cumming, across 400 and into Buford.A big fat ZERO !!! I rolled into the house with a little less than a quarter tank
Thank god I left my boat at a friends place on the lake. Would have never made it home towing the boat back. Would had been on the side of the road.
    Very scarey thought!!!

Good looking catch. I have not fished Weiss since the spring. I fish alot in the Brushy Branch and Coosa River area. The water is still warm and the bite a little slow. As to the gas, I live in Rome and lines at the pumps are getting worse every day.

Good fish. Maybe you should have fished the championship...
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop
