Well I also have a optimax and it is great..... But the Honda 4 stroke is sooo nice and quiet.... It is what I run for work... I love them...

Yamaha is a very dependable and quiet 4 stroke. My dad has one and he fishes 3-5 times a week. His is a 115hp, on a 17' G-3. 4 stroke gets much better fuel mileage.

I love my 4 stroke merc. But the Optimax is very good also. I would go with service availabilty and price. Either motor should serve you well for many years to come

    Default motor choice

My son has an Evenruide E-TEC. Its a two stroke but has less emissions than a four stroke. His is a 90hp and it will scat!!! It also has less maint. than a four stroke and is good on fuel. It will be my next motor.

I have a Tracker Pro Team 175 with a 50 ELPTO TwoStroke Mercury. I haven't figured mileage, but it seems to get great mileage. I run it at 5thousand rpms when cruising at 30+ mph.

Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids

I have a 50 hp 4stroke merc. I swear it makes fuel. I gave up alittle speed, but it's worth it.
