I have been several times already to weiss this year, a week ago the eggs are getting big and it should be good, how do you fish.
New Memeber. I am travelling to Weiss for the first time over March 14th weekend. I do not have the money to hire a guide so I will be fending ofr myself. Any information would be of the deepest thanks. My brother and I will be staying near Little Big Nose. We are not looking to keep much just catch a lot. Last year we went to Mitchell and produced nothing, it also snowed the two days were fishing so we moved our dates back this year. Thank you in advance for any help with amatuers.

In 2 weeks try little river, put in at jr's marina come out of the cove and hang a right. Stick to the channel and troll with jigs. You will see the boats. good luck
I can't help you with Weiss, but I want to welcome you to the forum.
Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids
I was taught to bass fish at an early age and have only lately gotten into crappie fishing, maybe 3 years now. I absolutely love the challenge. Lately I have tried a mirad of things but not getting great results. I just installed a spider rig on my boat this weekend and will be using it for the first time on Weiss. I have been trolling using Bass Assassin (pearl & smoke), I bought some Jiffy jigs as well, and some southern pro grubs for the weiss trip. I used live bait this last weekend and had no real luck either. I had two crappie, one off the bottom at 52 feet and another in about 14 feet. I had some really nice bass but I want to catch crappie. Any ideas or thoughts? Thank you for welcoming me into the forum. (I have been fishing lake martin regularly)
I may be wrong, but I think Weiss may have a rod limit. 3 maybe?
Some of the folks who fish it regularly would know for sure.
Weiss has a 3 rod limit per person.
Thank you for the rod info. I did not know that and had not seen that posted on any websites I have been looking at for Weiss information. Thank you.
I think the 3 rod rule goes for the whole state i think i read it on the dnr site
Nope, just Weiss and Neely Henry.
