Default Logan was good Sunday PM

    Hi All,

Alabama's forum has been slow lately. Anybody getting out?

I went out to Logan Martin Sunday night. The weather was great, clear skies, bright stars, cool breeze. George couldn't go with me, so I went alone and really enjoyed myself. The water is very low and dangerous, even in deep water. So I was going quite a bit slower than usual, and good thing, too. In the main river channel between Coosa Island and Clear Creek, I came upon a big dead tree. Again, glad I was going slow and using the boat headlight as well. If I had hit that who knows how it would have turned out, especially as I was alone.

I explored several spots looking for bottom structure, shad and fish. Up in Clear Creek I finally found some fish and set up the lights, poles and radio, and settled down for a nice evening. The fish started biting within 5 minutes and kept it up most of the time I was there. I ended up using all my minnows (about 5 dozen) by midnight. Many of the fish were smaller, but probably a third of them were nice 11-14 inchers. I ended up with a limit, which I haven't had in 2-3 months. If the fish are beginning to bite again, my next trip I want to try out one of my bigger-fish spots again. If I do, I'll give a report.

    Eddie
