I hit honey yesterday from 630am to 1pm. I went to the same spot a couple days earlier to catfish to no avail, however about an hour before sunset I started throwing a jig and caught 5 crappie off the top. Then after missing several fish and get frustrated by the grass I headed home. I woke up yesterday at 530 and was supposed to go to my Dr's appointment at 845 but I thought about those fish. Headed to honey and got right on them. I picked up 10 on the huntsville side and the moved across the bridge and picked up another 8 and one catfish. The fish were hitting anywhere from 1 ft to 9ft deep. Kept 18 and threw back a lot of dinks. The were pulling the water most of the morning. The fish completely shut down when the rain started about 12. Fish were caught on blue ice and monkey milk on 1/32 jig head. The fish are in post spawn mode and feeding heavy. The biggest one i caught was about a 1.5- 2lb male. When i filleted it today it had a 3 inch blue gill in its belly along with a couple shad. Good day on the water. Have a great safe weekend.
