I returned to Swan today, thought there might be a few people fishing so I headed right to the west instead of east like usual. I caught Gills steady all morning trying a few new things. I've got a new favorite bait for Gills, nikko pin tail worms on a tiny Bobby Garland Itty Bit Jighead in 1/64oz about 10 inches under a Trout Magnet EZ Float on 4 pound test. I found bedding Gills all over plus numerous Shellcrackers. I even caught a few bass, largest about 2 pounds. I kept half a limit returning many, many large Gills and a couple dozen large Shellcrackers (I had to keep one because he swallowed the jig head). Swan was 72 degrees with visibility of about a foot and back down near summer pool level. All bedding fish were tight to old (dead) standing buckbrush in about 18 inches of water. I'm leaving them on ice overnight but pics tomorrow after work when I clean them.

Sorry, not sure why Crappie.com sometimes rotates images. Does anyone know how to fix?
I think I'm going to order some more of those nikko pin tail worms tonight. I want to try them bottom bouncing in deeper water this summer!
Are they the 1.9?

Love, what more can I say
Nikko hellgrammites are my go-to when creek fishing for bass. Big rock bass will smoke them too.
