Thanks for your report and congratulations
I fished Swan Creek Saturday, Crappie early spider rigging with only one kept, returned 6 or 8 larger Crappie and a hand full of short fish. I spent the rest of the day trying new things for Gills. I found Gills on beds in multiple locations keeping a half limit of 9" to 10" fish. Of all the things I tried, they wanted something with flash and vibration. 90% of fish came of a tiny spinner, 1/32oz jig head with a 1"slider body. The water was 72 degrees early, but quickly warmed into the upper 70's with visibility of about a foot. The water is still a foot to a foot and half high for normal summer low pool. There were several boats fishing yesterday for Crappie or Gills with all catching a few.
Thanks for your report and congratulations

These guys fight light a 5-pound bass when you're using 4-pound test on an ultra-light.
Good job and nice report.
Fun times for sure!
thanks for sharing!
Too blessed to be stressed!
Looks fun, love me some big gills! I’ve never fished there. Can you run a small John boat in there. Looks like there’s a ramp.
John boat won't be a problem, should be good in the east end all summer, but might be only 12 to 18 inches deep at the ramp down from the equipment barn. Saturday the water was up about 12 to 18 inches (from summer low pool) so you could probably even launch a bass boat if you were careful and know you way around.
I have never been able to find the gills over there. I have caught several good bass but only a few gills and shell crackers. I have to do more searching in the part closer to the train tracks.
Cool thanks for the info.
my John is small, I can launch it just about anywhere. I’ll have to give it a try!
