Best thing in there is jig and bobber, small spinners or live bait like worms or crickets. Toss next to every stick up or tree overhang. Sometimes you'll find beds and load the boat, but more likely one here and one there. About the time you think there no keepers (sometimes it feels like there are no fish at all) you'll hit a small area and catch a few Crappie or a few Gills. They might be in the same area the next day but seldom week to week and the Gills seldom bed in the same areas year to year. It's one of the few places I know where you can fill a cooler with 9 and 10 inch Gills but you have to work for it. I fished one time for Shellcrackers in Swan with redworms, not a fish most of the day until I finally found a small stand of Green Buckbrush they were on. I tossed back half a limit of Redears that were 10 to 11 inches. Before I left I went over with the paddle and poked around. Hard bottom and only about 10 inches deep. Not sure why their backs weren't sticking out of the water. I've gone back to the spot every trip for three years without catching a single fish.
