When i talked to the biologist about the state boats in anderson creek we talked for a while. Nice fellow he said the western end of wheeler has suffered for a few years. They are studying the river, a student form auburn is doing his thesis and hopes to have a recomemdation at some point. He said the reports he is getting no one is doing much. I can remember when the limit was fifty and now its thirty to get elk back where it once was may be diffcult. We will see........

I can agree on a slower-than-usual spring this year. Summer: Scattered crappie for sure, but I don't know which is worse,... 100* heat, endless pleasure boaters, overcrowded boat ramps, and reservoirs, all of the noise and stupidity that a large percentage of them seem to bring with them... not to mention the jet skis and the wake boats that do nothing but go back and forth with music blaring... I certainly cut my trips way down in the summer, for sure.

Peace, tranquility, and the slow pace of fishing are why I enjoy it so much. When those things leave the lake, so do I.
It's all good, everyone should have their time.

It has been a tough spring for sure. I'm nowhere near doing what I was doing at this time last year. This has definitely opened my eyes to other techniques. I'm gonna keep at it, they've gotta eat somehow!
