Default Kayak Trip Report, Buckeye Pond

I fished Buckeye today, this is part of the Wheeler dewatering area North of Rockhouse. I kept half a limit and returned about the same number of larger fish. Little ones were everywhere. Started spider rigging about 24 to 30 inches deep in two to four feet of water. Wind quickly got too rough for spider rigging and changed to tossing a small spinner and jig and bobber. The spinner and jig and bobber were slower, but still caught fish until I left a little after lunch. The water was 64 degrees with visibility of about 12 inches.

Do you have to cart in or do they open the gate?

Have to cart from the gate, but the road is good, easy walk.

Some guys were bank fishing, filled a basket with Gill and Crackers. I didn't see anything huge, but lots of eaters.
