    Default 8 mile creek

Went to the chiropractor and got my back adjusted and my knees have been doing good lately so decided to put in the hard work to fish Friday. Probably caught 50 fish. First fish I caught was the only keeper. That place is always full of 6-8 inch crappie. I’ve been fishing there 5-6 years. It’s always been that way. I’m not smart on these things. Do that not grow or what??lol. Plenty of area. Shallow water, water over 20 ft. Plenty of bait fish. But still fun to get out and catch fish. Also caught a few large gills.

Good job. Probably overpopulated some as to why no larger growth.

Well they haven’t seemed to in 6 years. Lol. I’ve caught some 14-15 inch fish there. But it’s unreal how many short fish are in there.

Maybe it's the nursery for the lake? I rarely catch shorts when fishing the lake. Don't know if that's a thing with crappie or not.

I've caught some good ones in there, but I think that's a nursery with many fish moving into the main lake as they get bigger. Also hard to fish with the clear water. I like spider rigging or single pole, but that's almost not possible in shallow (less than 10 foot) clear water. Toss a jig and bobber along the weed edges early morning, afternoon or cloudy days and you'll get more larger fish in there

How small? Are they dinkier than the ones at Forrest Ingram?

Most 6-8 inches. They look healthy. Just short.
