Went out further west than I’ve ever been on the water with a co worker yesterday. He’s doing a bass tournament next weekend and wanted me to go with him. So I loaded a few baitcasters, two crappie rods, and my boxes for both.

We started early, and fished a couple areas on the big water. We eventually made our way around the Elk River area. I had never seen much past Ingalls, let alone that far down the river. Was really neat to see!

Water was getting warm on the surface in a lot of places. Some places in the shallows showed 59 degrees. I can understand, the sun has been out a lot this week. Wind really got to blowing around mid day and didn’t let up.

We landed a good mess of largemouth and two nice smallmouths. We could have done pretty well in one of those Tuesday night tournaments LOL

We got around some docks, so I obviously wanted to search for crappie. Ended up catching four way up under a dock. All on a roadrunner BGBS Blue Ice.

Nice smallmouth I caught with the same roadrunner+BGBS combo. Such a fun fight. Catches like these are why I love the light tackle so much.

Overall, the day was a blessing. Good to get out in the sunshine and enjoy being on the water. Catching those fish were just a bonus.

The overtime at work has finally dialed back a bit for the moment. Hope to put some more reports out here for all to enjoy. Springtime is here. Hopefully I will see some of yall out there on the water soon!
