Default Kayak trip report - Limestone / Arrowhead Landing

I had a chance to get out today from about 9:45-1 so I put in at Arrowhead and fished out to the river trying to follow DBs recent report and strategy.

I knew it wasn’t going to be the best weather but I don’t often get to go with a 4 year old boy and twin 8 month old boys 🤣 so I wanted to give it a shot. I ended up getting skunked but was nice to get out there and fish anyway. I also got the same disapproval looks from the spectators.

I may have gotten out a little too late and missed the bite, or maybe I wasn’t fishing deep enough or it could have been nearly all due to the weather pattern. I’ll blame it on that anyway! I had a few bites on Bobby garlands (clear with red and blue glitter specks) near the river really deep off the end of laydowns (maybe 10ft), but couldn’t get them hooked. Felt like open ocean paddling back!

I’ll stay after it though. It’s a lot of fun learning.

I'm having some trouble with my right shoulder right now so windy days are out right now. When I was on the fish in Limestone, they were deep and biting soft. Not sure if I could have picked up many on a day like today! Thanks for the report, better days are ahead!

Woo wee that water is bouncing. That place has been tight lipped latley. Glad you got out and you definitely fishing good water.

I suffered from the same ole....well maybe i was fishing too shallow or maybe too deep. Gotta set the mind to check the water thoroughly.
