Got to sneak down to the river yesterday afternoon and fished from 2- dark 30. Ended up with 6 keepers, 4 quick release keepers due to a slightly bent in hook and about as many shorts. Also managed to squander most of my time messing with schools of small bluegill which were out in number and willing to bite. The bait in the creek was pushed to the middle and I did manage to catch one out following it around. All others were tight to cover on 2 lay downs. I could see them on the typical places out deep but all but a couple I caught were about half way to the bank in 5-6 foot.
The white marabou was the most productive all around and a couple on a flat tailed plastic in blue and green. I was holding out to see if the gills would get any size to them but almost all were about a few inches too short for fillets but about right if you are up to scale some. Overall a good trip and only one boat at Indian when I put in and one deer hunter headed out of the creek. It seems game days are best for community hole fishing.
