Default Kayak report for limestone creek

I fished limestone creek Thursday before last and last Wednesday.

    Thursday
I fished the upper creek and caught a nice small mouth ( only 2nt one i have caught in the creek ) and a couple of spots but no crappie. I finally found the crappie on the lower end of the creek. I caught 23 and lost 4 lifting them in the kayak. All but 1 of them were keepers with several big ones. The bass were eating as well and i caught 30 plus with one 4 plus and several 3 plus. All but 2 crappie were caught on a my hand tied hair jig. All fish were released for another day

    Wednesday
Me and a couple buddies returned Wednesday hoping to get on the crappie but as luck would have it we only caught 2. The bass were still eating as we caught 30 plus with a 4 and several over 3. Mostly LM in the lower creek and spots in the upper creek. very enjoyable couple of days

Thanks for sharing! Awesome couple of days, and sounds like a ton of fun.

What were you using for the bass? Most fish come on the same technique/ type of lure?

I typically with catch crappie or strike out at limestone, since I don’t typically bring bass gear, but would love to bring it going forward just in case the crappie don’t cooperate.

    Thanks!

I use the zoom rugby shaky head jig with a zoom trick worm or a zoom finesse worm. Walmart has the heads in 3/16 oz which is good for limestone.
