    Tried cotaco at a new put in way upstream. Finally broke down and got some minnows. Caught countless white bass,gills and catfish using them. Put on a bg tuxedo shimmer. Kept getting really light thumps and line movements but just couldn’t hook up. Just for the heck of it I tipped it with a minnow and they started hammering it. Of course it was starting to get dark and I was a couple miles from the truck. Caught 5 good ones and lost a couple more good ones. Had to leave them biting but don’t like getting caught on the water after dark. For me lately,not a bad day. Came off and left my battery at home so don’t know temp. But the water had a tint of brown to it.

    Way to go, better than my last outing! It has always amazes me how Crappie will often bite better the first hour after daylight or the last hour before dark, returned to the put in via a headlamp and loaded in the dark many times!

    I have a light from my coon hunting days but haven’t thought about it. Wish I’d had it yesterday. Finally feeling that thump for the first time in a while I sure didn’t want to leave. Lol
