Default Kayak Trip Report, Forest Ingram Lake

I had a rough day fishing Forest Ingram in Cullman today, only 4 Crappie. All the fish (and bait fish schools) were 25 to 30 feet deep leaving me completely out of my element. My anchor rope is only 15 feet long, LOL. Visibility of about two to three feet and 55 degrees. Managed to pull several bass and gills out of the deep schools of fish but just couldn't manage the depth and wind. Forest Ingram is about four feet low, so hard drag in and back out also.

It was close to a skunk on Crappie, they wanted a slow presentation so wouldn't hit a 1/16oz. Trying to fish a 1/32oz jig head in stiff winds 30 feet deep is near impossible! I'm making a longer anchor rope tomorrow.

I use a 50’ paracord for my anchor rope. Fishing that deep with a light weight jig is tough. You did good.

Not sure I can catch them 35 foot deep, but I've got 50 foot of anchor rope now!
