Default Kayak Trip Report, Cotaco Creek

I fished Cotaco today, I'll start with the good news. Shad schools everywhere, 64 degrees with visibility of about 12 to 18 inches.

The bad news, I kept 5 and return about the same number larger fish. Short White Crappie were everywhere, especially towards the main river adjacent the large, shallow slough on the East side of the creek. I probably tossed back 200 that were between 6 and 8 inches. All fish came single pole 2 to 4 feet deep on laydowns using a 1/32oz White Marabou jig.

I agree, good sign for next Spring and Summer. They were hitting it hard also, kept thinking I'd thin the little ones out and get on some keeper fish.
