First time fishing before daylight but that’s what Bama S said be at the ramp at 0400 am so I did! Little cold when started about 43 dropping to 41 before sunrise then up to 71 midday. Water 65 rose to 67. Had a clear sky and bright moon to aid seeing without lights. Docks that Bama really wanted to hit didn’t have lights turned on but found a couple docks to go to. Bite was slow before daylight caught a tiny bluegill, 2-3 crappie, catfish (didn’t get in boat) and 2 bass (1 didn’t get in boat). Bama said sometimes they get more aggressive right after sunrise which turned out to be true. Bama said let’s look at some brush piles and we found them! Caught about 12-13 crappie then it was like the bite stopped. Bama showed me couple of other spots then had to go about 0830-0900. He told me to try the spots again and I did but only got 2 crappie couple hours later.
Total 17 crappie and 1 spotted bass. Bama fished with 1/8oz (don’t remember colors and I fished 1/32oz with BG blue ice. All fish were caught about 10-20 ft.
