If you get into a bind, you can get crickets (or mealworms, superworms, wax worms, etc.) from a lot of pet stores. Animal Trax in Madison keeps a good supply and will be cheaper than chain pet stores. The crickets might be smaller than typical bait store crickets, and the price might be higher. But, you can get them. Ask to see the size and tell them you want them for fish bait.

It's not real close to Madison but the bait shop at Hobbs island and the parkway sells everything including crikets

I hear there is a new bait shop in Triana. The guy has his phone number posted I think on the door. Just call if he’s not open. Must live super close by.

The chevron at 565 and greenbrier has minnows and crickets seasonally. Perfect place to stop on the way to limestone bay
