Default Jordan Lake July 3, 2023

    Last picture NSFW!!

Hot, 101 with heat index, sunny with partial cloud cover. Water was 88-89 degrees. Trolled using 12-18’ crankbaits. Hard to do by myself and never saw the crappie on my side or downview. Had gar, 5 drum, 4 bass, and 2 crappie in about 5 hours of trolling. 7” fillet knife for scale.

I still don’t understand how to read my side view though.

When I got the gar it had another line and wrapped around its nose. So I grabbed it around his gills and it wiggled out embedding the lure into my hand. I was able to pull it out with pliers. Thank God it is just sore now. Would not recommend to try! Jordan Lake July 3, 2023 After this God let me get the second crappie.

That could have been worse. Be glad you didn't have a emergency room trip. If you don't mind traveling I'll school you up on the side image. I'm a little north of you, pm me if you're interested

Nice catches. Make sure to keep something on the wound. Those types of puncture wounds get infected easily

That will surely get your attention when it happens. Been there done that and for a while l remembered that it could happen again but old age we forget about everything. Keep the wound clean and antibiotic crème may help also.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
