Default Kayak Trip Report, Moulton New City Lake

I fished Moulton New City Lake today from 9AM till around 4PM. Mixed bag, I kept 4 Crappie and returned another limit of larger fish. Also kept half a limit of big Gills. Anyone that missed the Shellcracker spawn back in April they're on the beds all over Moulton. I kept a handful just to show the typical size out of Moulton. All fish came off a little 1" slider on a 1/32oz jig head. Gills and Crappie can off weed edges in ten feet of water. The Shellcracker beds are anywhere from a foot or two deep to some spots where they spawn yearly that were in eight feet of water. I probably tossed back close to a hundred. The water was 84 degrees with visibility of four to five feet. Pictures a little later when I clean them!

Anyone make a trip chasing the big Sheely's. I was hoping I'd see a report with some pics!

I am planning to give it a try early tomorrow and will report back. It will be my first time at this lake. Are there any city park type restrictions? Open from day light or a chance of getting locked in if you stay too late?
