Ah man your in my wheel house now. Tie off and sit over it if you can. Anchor and drift over and sit if you cant. Drop straight down checking all depths slowly. Anything fishy going on with the line give it a jerk test. A little bit heavier jig will unhang you easier

I’ve been the same way. If it’s over 6-8 feet I’m lost. I went Friday after work and found what appeared to be a broke off submerged tree in 20 feet of water. There appeared to be fish on it. I tried casting to it and just still jigging and nothing. I put a 1/8 head on and let it hit bottom. Then a really super slow retrieve straight up and started catching fish. They were small but that’s the only way I could get them to bite. And catch is the man at that stuff. Fishing with him a couple times helped me a bunch at that type fishing.

I checked it out yesterday. Turns out it was a bunch of yearling spotted bass. Anywhere from 4-8 inches long. I dropped a double jig down to them and caught a few, was really neat to try out! Was hoping I had found a good spot for crappie. I have this place marked out and ill keep my eyes on it as time goes on. Thanks for the help!

I enjoyed getting to get a little more familiar with the jig pole. This old Eagle Claw gets the job done, but dad gum does it wear my arm out after a couple of hours. I think I've about convinced myself to buy one of the BnM jig poles to get something a little lighter and maybe have an extra on hand to let someone else try it out. Thanks again for the advice!
