I bought this net 7 years ago for landing slabs on 16' poles and no problems on 5lb bass/catfish. Amazon sells out fast everytime they have them. WestMarine has it for $48.
It floats.

When spider rigging with 14 or 16 foot poles those long handles are necessary.

Are you afraid of losing the fish or breaking the rods. I push with 16's and I didn't use one. I did ok

Both, I have caught crappie up to 3 lbs. and used to compete in tournaments so I had to do everything I could to get those fish in the boat. The net I use is one I bought from Crappiemasters many years ago when we were fishing their tournaments. It extends out to 12 feet. It is made of aluminum and is a little heavy but it has always got the job done.
