Nice mess. It certainly was windy out
Fished a pit this morn from 7-115 and got 24 slabs of which I kept 10 for a friend. All caught on a stake bed on various jigs and even a beetle spin. Wind got ridiculous at 930 or so and I had to anchor within a few yds of the stake bed to fish it. Saw big gator 🐊. He owns that pit

Way to brave the wind, sounds like a good time for sure. Nice mess! Congrats.
Glad those stake beds are producing. I plan to add some more this winter while the water is down. Great job in the wind, it was rough today!
Great Job! I went later in the morning and found 4 keepers in Cotaco....caught a bunch of smaller ones. Prob 10-12 overall. I feel like they should be shallow given the water temps but I must have got some late nesters. Help me to understand stake beds etc and maybe I can help put some in as well. Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a good day to me. I know the pup and I had a ball just being out there today. That wind was brutal for sure. Thanks again riverboss!
Stake beds are usually placed in shallow areas as cover for fish to spawn on. DitchBasser has been kind as well as benevolent in his placement of several of them over the last couple of years. They should be located out of current areas but other than that I would defer to others for locating tips.
