Default Kayak Trip Report, Forest Ingram Lake

I needed some little ones to cook so I gave Forest Ingram Lake a try today. The water was 60 degrees after lunch and warmed to 65/66 degrees by late afternoon. It took a while to locate the fish but found them on beds in 2 to 4 feet of water along several hundred yards of bank on both sides of the lake. I kept a limit of 9" to 10" fish and returned a couple hundred. Almost all of them 6 to 8 inches long Black Crappie. I found one area where they were on the bank and staged just off the bank on some brush. I tried a dozen different combinations and colors without a bite, put back on the white Marabou and started catching them again one after another. Visibility is about a foot and all fish came off wood. It seemed every laydown held 5 or 6 and by the time I circled back around I'd catch more off the same cover.

That dang white marabou. Great report and good job on the eaters.

I tried white Maribou yesterday and never got a bite on it. Tuxedo shimmer is what they wanted. Awesome day of catching you had there
