Default Kayak Trip Report, Lucy's Branch Marina

I coworker told me he launches out of Lucy's Branch Marina and there's a slough North of the road that's skinny water and full of laydowns. I decide to give it a try since I had little hope of catching much today with the high, chocolate milk water. I figured I could at least scout a new area. I kept one catfish and a couple Crappie returning several stripe, bass and gills. Not much to report, but I'll be back if the water ever clears up. Visibility was only about 6 inches and 60 degrees when I started. It had warmed to 64 by 4PM.

At times when the weather is crappie I launch there and stay in that safe haven. I have been known to ease my boat under the road also.

The bridge was tough to get under in a kayak today!

I fished the Marina some, but no luck, LOL.

Launched on the North side, but also gave the Marina a try.

I fish there some. I’ve saw some good crappie come from around the boat slips.
