Default Indian creek New Years day

Fished from 1130 till dark and had a dozen by 345 then found a pile on shallow brush beside a large deadfall . Caught em single poling 8-9 ft deep till the shade got on the West Bank then a couple hits while jig was falling signaled a shallower bite so paralleled the deadfall 2 ft deep and caught a bunch more most of which were released. Gave away 20 and a bluegill.

I hate that crowd over there but there do seem to be more fish there on average. Several folks told me early bite was good in Indian but had slowed by noon. I got all my bites deep till sun got down. Tried shallower water and shallower presentation but no luck with that. Had to be real careful with my approach to trees to avoid spooking them. Fish were on deep ends near bottom

Sounds like the fun we had in there last year around this time! Thanks for sharing.

I hope to see you next weekend if the creeks aren't high and muddy.
