I have a day off today and would love to catch a few crappie. Anyone have any ideas on where to give it a try within a cpl hours of Moulton?? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I'm not up there but I have wanted to go to Guntersville Lake and Weiss Lake. If I am not mistaken I think Richard Gene The Fishing Machine fishes Guntersville

Moulton New City Lake off AL Route 33. The Crappie should be shifting into the shallows, that's relative there due to the clear water. I'd look for weed edges and any old cover in 10 to 12 feet of water.

I got to new city.lake in Moulton today..water is about 6 feet low..water temp was 68-69 and visibility 8-10 feet. I thought I found crappie on fish finder but couldn't catch any. Did catch one small spotted bass..
