Rough though, doesn't matter how light your drag is set when a large fish nails the jig and you've only got 12 inches of line off the end of a 10-foot, ultralight rod. I cracked a second rod (didn't know until I got home) where the two pieces go together. I tried a quick fix and messed up, now the two halves don't go together. Expensive trip!

Keep following the gravel road past Arrowhead until you reach the locked gate under I-65. It's a half mile down the gravel road to the slough. The road follows under the I-65 bridge between the North and South bound lanes.

dont trash the rods. I can JB weld them. We need to go back in a couple weeks before the water starts rising and when it cools off a little.

Glad I saw this. If I’d ever tried it I thought you went through the other gate past the bridges.

Thanks for the info. I have never fished that spot before. Need to get one of the electric bikes that they have at lowes and rig a way to pull the kayak. Only problem is it's $2000.00

It's a short walk with my kayak on the cart.

I wished I'd caught some 9 to 10 inch fish to eat, but any thump is better than a zero!

You can go that way if you come off North Bethel Road in Priceville and go straight across Upper River road
